The Diploma Certificate Convocation for the 2023/2024 batch of the Diploma in Archaeology and Cultural Tourism, conducted by the Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology, was held on 25th April 2025 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo.

This diploma program, specifically designed for professionals in Sri Lanka’s tourism industry—particularly tourist guides—aimed to equip participants with formal and up-to-date knowledge on Sri Lankan culture and cultural heritage sites. The primary objective of the course was to contribute directly to the country's economic development through improved professional capacity in the cultural tourism sector.

The convocation ceremony was held under the patronage of Senior Professor Gamini Adikari and under the guidance of Senior Professor Priyani Paranagama, Acting Director of the Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology. Diploma certificates were awarded to the successful participants who had completed the program and are now prepared to serve as informed ambassadors of Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage.
